Scott Logistics Corp. is a third-party logistics provider (3PL) in Rome, GA, providing quality transportation service with a personal touch.  On April 6, 2009, we were certified as a SmartWay Transport Partner.  Becoming certified shows that we are committed to promoting energy efficiency and better air quality within the transportation industry.  By encouraging carriers to become SmartWay partners, we assist them in making better, more responsible choices for their businesses and for the environment.  By using SmartWay carriers, we provide a valuable service to our shippers by enabling them to move more of their freight with SmartWay carriers, thereby reducing their environmental footprint.

When carriers become SmartWay partners, they acquire tangible tools to improve business operations and make a positive difference for the environment.  Carriers have access to tools that will help them achieve business goals through this EPA-supported program.

Scott Logistics Corp.'s SmartWay goals are:

• To identify all existing carriers in our database that are SmartWay-certified and flag them with preferential designation.
• To train our Logistics Coordinators to identify and utilize carriers that are SmartWay-certified.
• To add a notice to our Carrier Set-up Packet with information on the SmartWay partnership.
• To encourage new carriers to pursue SmartWay certification.
• To encourage shippers to become SmartWay-certified to join the partnership and become certified.
• To utilize SmartWay carriers in at least 50% of all our freight movements.
